Your documents,
your details.
Draft. The company that runs EmployedRight is being set up. This notice will name it, with its registered address and ICO registration, before the site accepts documents or passes on anyone's details.
Who we are
EmployedRight is run by EmployedRight. We are the data controller for the information on this page. Contact us at hello@employedright.co.uk.
Documents you upload
What: the PDF you choose, and the summary we make from it. Employment documents can include names, addresses, salary, National Insurance numbers and sometimes health information. We don't ask for any of that, and our reader is told not to copy names, addresses, National Insurance numbers, bank details, dates of birth or health details into the summary.
Why, and our lawful basis: to show you what your document says, because you asked us to. Where a document contains health information, we rely on your explicit consent, which you give with the tickbox before uploading.
How: the file is virus-checked on our server, then sent to Anthropic, whose AI model Claude reads it and returns the facts. Anthropic processes it for us under its commercial terms and does not use it to train its models. Anthropic is in the United States, so the file leaves the UK, with the safeguards UK data protection law requires for that transfer.
How long: the file is deleted as soon as it has been read, and in any case within 24 hours. The summary is kept at a private link for 30 days so you can come back to it, then deleted. You can delete it sooner with the button on the summary page.
The "where do I stand?" questionnaire
Your answers stay in your browser. They aren't sent to us or stored.
Asking a solicitor to contact you
What: your name, email, phone number if you give it, the topics and situation you picked, your message, and, only if you tick the box, the summary of your document.
Why, and our lawful basis: to pass your enquiry, with your consent, to MML Law, a Scottish law firm based in Dundee. They become a controller of what we pass them and will give you their own privacy notice. We keep a record of the exact consent you gave and when.
How long: two years from your last contact with us, unless you ask us to delete them sooner.
Who else handles data for us
- Our hosting provider, which runs the server the site and its database live on.
- Bunny.net, our content delivery network, which carries traffic to the site.
- Postmark (ActiveCampaign), which sends our emails.
- Anthropic, as above, for reading uploaded documents.
We keep a one-way hash of your IP address and your browser's user-agent with forms and uploads, to stop abuse. The site sets no cookies and uses no analytics or advertising trackers.
